I wish all my American readers a happy Independence day. Hope you all get to enjoy it in whatever fashion you choose to indulge. As a dual citizen of both the US and the UK, it’s a bit of an odd holiday for me. I’m basically celebrating independence from myself, which I guess make me a patriotic schizophreniac.

In Holland we just celebrated Keti Koti [July 01]. It where we remember the end of slavery in the Netherlands and it’s former colonies 150 years ago. Long overdue. Celebrating independence from yourself is a lovely soundbite for a blogger but why not describe it as a special day where you look back on the freedom you have to make your own choices instead? Like posting an image of a British pro-domme on this day? [Just asking for a friend.]

It hadn’t even clicked that it was British domme I was posting! I mean I obviously knew it was given I gave her location, but didn’t didn’t make a connection to the post. Maybe I should have tried to find a shot of an American domme beating up a UK sub.
Hadn’t heard of Keti Koti, but sounds like an excellent idea. America has started celebrating Juneteenth as an official holiday but, as usual, it get dragged into the stupid culture wars here.
