Curved cage

This looks like a particularly entertaining design for a cage. It’s pretty cramped but, from a casual inspection, it would appear to rotate, pivot and be movable. The design is nifty, but it would be a hard thing to explain to a visiting relative. Traditional square cages can at least be attributed to holding a dog. It reminds me a little of this artwork, which is described as a parrot cage, so perhaps you could just say you had an enormous bird that escaped. Or maybe that you’re building a giant globe and haven’t got around to adding the continents just yet.

Curved Cage

I found this on the Geek Domme tumblr. I’m afraid I don’t have an original attribution.

And that’s magic!

Can you trace the origin of your kinks or fetishes? Assuming that you have any. Although if you don’t, you’ve chosen a really odd site to browse.

The NY Magazine article discussed in yesterday’s post on the origins of people’s kinks, talked a lot about triggers and formative events. Things from childhood that could be directly linked to a later sexual preference. It would seem that some fraction of kinky people have very clear triggers, some can point to a range of influences but no single thing, and others have absolutely nothing in childhood to point at. In the comments to the post Miss Margo mentioned that a lot of her clients can identify triggers, while Vista represented the kinky person without that genesis moment.

Personally I’m in the same camp as Vista. I don’t have anything I can point to that twisted me kinky. However, I can very clearly identify the moment when I first showed interest in a kinky thing. Cue a wibbly wobbly screen and swirly special effects as I take you back thirty (ahem) or so years to a much younger paltego…

I grew up in a tiny village. It was basically two streets, one shop, a village hall and (since this is England we’re talking about) two pubs. This was a time when the internet was still the arpanet and British television consisted of 3 channels. Any kind of organized live entertainment was therefore a big deal. There was the occasional village fête, a Christmas carol concert, an agricultural show, etc.  Then one year, when I was around 5 or 6 years old, somebody organized a variety show in the village hall. I can’t remember most of it. It was probably the usual amateur song and dance acts with a bad comedian thrown in for good measure. But there was also a magic act. And that act has stayed with me to this day. It was very traditional. Card tricks. Linking rings. Endless streams of colorful handkerchiefs. And a woman in a sparkly costume getting sawn in half (actually the Zig Zag Girl trick). It was this final trick that particularly transfixed me. I can still remember my excitement as she climbed into the box and the magician tied things around her wrists and ankles. She was constrained, in peril, sacrificial and yet willing. He took away her control, yet she seemed to enjoy it.

From that moment on I always kept an eye out for magic acts and escapologists on television. There was something I found very enticing about the ropes, chains, padlocks and perilous situations that featured in their acts. But it wasn’t till I hit puberty, and discovered the idea of bondage (via my parents copy of The Joy Of Sex), that I had my ‘Aha!’ moment. I certainly don’t think the magic act I saw as a child was formative. The wiring was already in place, because it excited me in a strange way the instant I saw it. The discovery of kink just helped me to understand why I’d found that particular act in an otherwise long forgotten village show so compelling.

Femdom Magic Trick captioned by Servitor

It was surprisingly hard to find a magic themed femdom shot. A lot of the equipment for elaborate magic tricks looks awfully similar to the contents of most dungeons, yet there seems to be very little direct cross-over. In the end I turned to the prolific Servitor and this amusingly captioned picture. The ‘magician’ in question here is the lovely Lexi Sindel.

Perched on her pet

A cute shot this one. He has a gentle puppy look about him, where she looks a lot more carnal. Sometimes in a cage shot like this one there’s a sense of a firm but caring and playful owner/pet relationship. A bit like owning a dog. Not so much here. She looks like someone with delightfully evil plans, and the look in his eyes says that he knows his role in them.

Pet In Cage I found this on the Fuck Yeah Male Submission tumblr. It’s originally from the Divine Bitches site.

I know why the caged slave sings

It’s because someone is shocking his genitals with an ErosTek unit.

Readers will be happy to know that this is the last of my “What I did on my holidays” posts. That was always the first school essay assigned for the fall term when I was child. In those days it always ended up being about sandcastles and ice-cream on the beach. These days it’s more about whips, electroshock and being pissed on. But I guess spanking and screaming are still common elements, so not everything has changed.

The shots below were taken during my double domme session with Mistress Yuki and Mistress Ai-Li. The quality isn’t great, as they were snapped quickly with an iPhone mid-session, but given then inventive nature of the set-up I thought it was worth sharing (click images to enlarge).

Our session space had a narrow free standing cage I was told to climb into. Once the door was locked they started attaching vicious little clips all over my body and tying them off to the cage bars. Very quickly they built up a web of tense twine and painful clamps. The last image on the right shows a good close-up of that. With dozens of clips pulling tightly in all directions it made any slight movement very painful. Swaying forward to reduce the strain on the nipples and cock would pull the clips attached my back and lower legs, and vice-versa. Of course that’s when the ErosTek unit and its remote control fob came into play. It’s quite hard to stand still when your genitals are being shocked with a very large number of volts. And amazingly that wasn’t the worst part. Standing still while Mistress Yuki zapped my cock was tricky, standing still while Mistress Ai-Li tickled the sides of my feet was impossible. That was a sneaky trick and resulted in much screaming.

Natasha Gornik

I’ve spent the last hour or so browsing the blog and portfolio of the photographer Natasha Gornik. She appears to be the photographer of choice for a lot of pro-dommes, particularly those based in New York. I recognized shots she’s done of Mona Rogers, Mistress Sade, Mistress Alex and Ms Oliva Black amongst others on her site. She’s created a beautiful collection of work, extending far beyond the boundaries of simple fetish and glamor shots.

The image below was taken from her blog, and it caught my eye for the many different layers of restriction it depicts. There’s what looks like a zentai style suit, a metal head cage with chain, a web of white rope, and finally a large solid metal cage. I’m not sure if that level of bondage would be either comforting or claustrophobic, but I do enjoy this shot of it all in place. The rope work was by Ms Yin Q of glint studios, and Natasha comments on the scene as follows…

for one scene, Yin had her subject in a cage and intricately tied him up with white rope. she did a beautiful job. it was very quiet in the room and you could hear the sound of the rope rubbing against itself and the floor. i’ve always found this process so cathartic. i would watch it often when i was shooting bondage videos. it usually takes a while, and it was nice to zone out and watch the domme make these beautiful designs and listen to the sounds of the rope. i wouldn’t even have the camera on, but i would stare through the viewfinder and just watch. it has a poetic-ness about it.

Fun Furniture

I’m a big fan of original and fun BDSM furniture. There’s a lot of scope available for creating items that facilitate interesting physical and mental torments whilst also being cool pieces of design in themselves. The chance to plan and build a dedicated play space, with this kind of furniture in it, is one thing that might eventually get me out of a downtown condo and into a real house.

There’s a good couple of examples below. The first has been all over various tumblr sites, but I believe it originally came from Sir’s Little One. Obviously custom built for the space, I like the idea, but think it’d be better with more of the cage exposed. It looks just a little too cosy a place to be.

Cage BedIn contrast the next example definitely does not have a warm cosy feel to it. I guess you’d call it a floating board and it can be found in Mistress Annabel’s dungeon. She’s a London based pro-domme, with a fine selection of furniture. I love the heavy industrial look of the buckles and the metal frame. Very utilitarian and no doubt very easy to wipe clean of blood! There’s also a St. George’s chair on the right and a St. Andrew’s cross at the back.

Human pets (part 1)

Human pet play is a very natural fit for D/s relationships. It works so well on so many different levels. There’s the equipment for restraint and punishment – collars, leashes, whips, cages, etc. There’s the dehumanization and humiliation aspect. Animals are typically naked and at ground level, where humans are clothed and standing. So a very natural power imbalance is automatically created.  There’s the idea of training and punishing to create the desired response to basic commands. Removing someones intelligence by treating them like a ‘dumb’ animal. And there’s also a burden of caring that is created. Animal owners are supposed to look after the pets, where the pets themselves have nothing to do except be pets. So that creates all sorts of trust issues and the transference of responsibility. It’s an area packed with hot buttons for kinky role-playing.

Caged PetSadly I’ve no idea who the artist is for this. I do enjoy the proprietary way she’s staring down at him. The cuffed hands behind the back are a nice touch, as it enforces a very animal style of eating.
