Masochist, submissive or foot fetishist?

Feet are complicated things. I’m sure most non-kinky people lump all feet related activity into the single category of fetishizing unusual body parts. But those of us with slightly more discerning (or depraved) palettes know there’s a little more to it than that.

A masochist might love ball busting, trampling or general kicking. He (or she) enjoys feet for the options they give a sadist to inflict serious pain in a very controlled and personal way. Alternatively, a submissive may enjoy the D/s aspects of scent, worship and service. Feet have maintenance requirements (cleaning, massage, nail care, etc.) which make them ideal for submissive rituals. Finally, a foot fetishist loves feet as a thing of beauty in themselves. They enjoy looking at them and caressing them, with no need of a D/s or SM dynamic.

When it comes to pornography involving feet, there’s often an overlap between these categories. The same image can be interpreted in different ways depending on the proclivities of the viewer. I think the shot below is a good case in point, where all three alternatives are feasible. There’s physical proximity for the fetishist, scent and subservience for the submission, and painful pressure for the masochist. Personally I’d say it looks slightly more masochistic than anything else, but beauty (and porn) is in the eye of the beholder.

Frozen Moment

I’m not really sure what attracted me to this image initially. I don’t like public play, I don’t have a foot fetish and the CFNM thing isn’t a big deal to me. I’ve been the NM often enough that I’m not really bothered by it at all. Yet it was still an image that caught my attention. It seems nicely balanced and composed, with the shared blanket for the women emphasizing the nakedness of the male. And the falling shoe is a beautiful touch. It emphasizes the idea of a perfect moment in time.

In the past I’d have described this as public humiliation. But a comment from Old Man Equine I think sums it up better.

By the way, the act depicted in the picture is not “public humiliation” to me.
It is an act of “public worship”.

Anyone who has seen this From Dusk Till Dawn scene would suspect Quentin Tarantino of foot fetish and submissive tendencies. Most men when given control of a scene featuring themselves with Salma Hayek in a strip club would not naturally gravitate to a ‘foot jammed in mouth’ sequence (readers of this blog possibly excepted).

Well after a recent kiss-and-tell email, the suspicion has been transformed into something a little closer to fact.

As I’m trying to rapidly think of ways I can agent myself out of this deal, I hear what is without a doubt, the strangest question in the history of my life.

Many of you may have seen this coming, as his foot fetish is WELL documented, but for some of us who spend more time watching Kate Hudson than we do Quentin Tarantino, this was a huge shock.

It has to be said that the writer doesn’t exactly cover herself in glory in her telling of the tale. Kissing and telling is never cool, and boasting about how lazy you are in bed, that you sneak through people’s belongings when given the chance, and belittling the guy you’ve been making out with, doesn’t really improve the situation. At the same time, my sympathy for Quentin is limited. Random girls you hookup with at a party are not bound by an NDA.

Site Updates

I’ve made a number of updates to the site.

Over on the Femdom Image page I’ve added five new links: dommepics, Awesome Femdom, Erotic Haecceities, Her Dominion and Chastity Tigger. I also deleted a couple of sites that appeared to be dead.

On the Femdom Fiction page I added two new links. One to to Understories, a collection of BDSM themed stories, and one to the descriptively named Erotic Mind-Control Story Archive.

Finally, I’ve added a link to Mistress Milliscent’s blog over to the right on my pro-domme blogroll. She’s from the same part of the world I’m in (Seattle area), and writes on a wide variety of topics, not just the standard kink themes common on other pro-domme blogs.

I like the coloring and style of this image. It’s very cleanly drawn, with vivid colors and strong lines. But….ouch!

Clean-up Crew

This image caught my eye more for the dominant’s outfit than anything else. I always dislike it when a domestic scene is portrayed, and yet the woman looks like she’s spent the last hour being squeezed and buckled it the latest creations from her local leatherwear emporium. Admittedly it’s probably not the most practical get up for doing housework in, but that’s what the naked slave is for. She’s just giving him a few last minute pointers on exactly how shiny the floor should be by the time she returns from her evening out on the town.

A stereotype rejuvenated

If you asked someone to describe this picture I think it would sound like a million other femdom images. There’s a mistress flexing a cane and staring into the camera. But this is that one millionth and one image that somehow makes the stereotype seem fresh again. I like the feet casually slung onto the desk, with the just hint of stocking showing. And I’m a sucker for women in glasses. But it’s that quirky smile and slightly off center glance that really makes this work for me. She looks like she’d very much enjoy wielding that cane.

A full bodied vintage

I’m sure you’ve heard the expression that two wrongs do not make a right. Well here’s a good example of how two rights can make a wrong.

I certainly appreciate attractive dominant women sticking their feet aggressively into my face. And I’m an avid collector and drinker of wine. But this image is all sorts of wrong. I really hope that’s nothing better than a bottle of two buck chuck.
