While browsing tumblr for a good strap-on picture for yesterday’s post I stumbled on the image below. It’s one of those shots that I love while being baffled by it.
There’s a very attractive lady, but she seems to be relaxing in a urban wasteland. There’s a big black strap-on, but nobody to fuck. There’s high heels and lingerie, next to a barbed wire fence and graffiti clad concrete.
Don’t get me wrong – I like the photograph. I just can’t help thinking about the 10 minutes before the shutter was pressed. How did they get here? And what was the conversation leading up to it? Did they originally set out to capture this particular shot? Did someone stumble across this setting and think to themselves – “Interesting gritty urban space. What would really work here is a half naked blonde lady sporting an enormous black strap-on.” ?

Seeing weird, no context shots and overly-stereotypical shots all over Tumblr for the last few years gave me the idea to start my own Tumblr just for highlighting that kind of thing, which I set up initially as an April Fool joke:

Shots like this are kind of like a spaghetti sundae. You know, spaghetti is good, vanilla ice cream is good, chocolate sauce is good… so it should be 3 times good when you combine them all at once, right?
Shame you didn’t keep the tumblr going. Looked like it could have been a fun collection of images!
I actually like these kind of strange shots more than the stereotypical cliched ones that crop up so often. I guess I prefer a ‘Hmmm. Odd’ reaction to a ‘Blah. Boring’ one 🙂 If it was a fashion advertisement in some glossy magazine then probably nobody would bat an eyelid at it. We kind of expect weird for selling clothes, but less so for actual sex and kink.

Could be a scene from something like “The Sopranos.” They bring a guy out to this urban wasteland or waterfront in the NY/Jersey area. He thinks he’s going to get “whacked.” Won’t he be in for a surprise…or a treat!

Nice thought! Make for a fun Sopranos porn parody. Although if they wanted to make it an unpleasant surprise, I’m guessing Mistress Adrienne wouldn’t be the one they’d hire. Nobody could be too upset at getting a ‘whacking’ from her!
