Anthony Vaccarello

Whenever I see a fashion editor going on about a ‘dominatrix look’ I brace myself for disappointment. It normally means one of the models wore a pair of boots or – even worse – a leather choker. However, I have to admit that this papermag article on the 2020 Saint Laurent collection by designer Anthony Vaccarello doesn’t get it wrong. It’s a pretty hot and kinky collection, with some serious dominatrix vibes. I particularly like the combination of pussybow blouses with shiny latex pants as shown in this linked image. That’s fetish meets old fashioned schoolmistress, a particularly fab combo in my eyes. I also love the latex dress in the image below. Impractical no doubt, but beautiful and sensual.

Most Overrated Pose

This post was originally going to feature the most overrated item in the BDSM toolbox. After the last couple of posts on underrated equipment, I thought that might be a fun way to finish this series. Unfortunately, after pondering the idea, I’m not sure there are any good candidates for that category. Everything commonly used has its fans. I’m personally not a fan of blindfolds, but I know that a lot of other kinksters love them. Figging would be another personal choice for overrated activities, but I’m not sure something so niche could ever be described as overrated.

Instead let me go with the most overrated BDSM pose, as exemplified by the image below. This kind of shot crops up in fashion shoots all the time. It’s a strong visual and one photographers always reach for when wanting to portray a femdom dynamic. Yet in my opinion, it doesn’t work well in real play. There’s no sense of connection between the domme/sub and, if you want to do objectification, then a footstool or table position is much easier to maintain for a longer period. It’s a pose that’s great for a camera but not much else.

This is the model  Lydia Possner as shot by Markus Brink. More images from the same shoot in this post.

The Widow To Be

Random thought of the day: The veil is the least fetishized item of women’s clothing. It’s very rare you see them in any kind of kinky scene. Which is kind of odd. I’d imagine that the heavier full face ones would work well in a sci-fi or medical roleplay. The lighter more fashionable ones – the kind sported by Mistress Adrienne below – would work in a femme fatale or black window roleplay. This would be a great look for a tease and breathplay scene featuring a soon to be late husband whose about to realize the importance of those documents he just signed.

This shot of the beautiful and very fashionable Mistress Adrienne is from this tweet.

A Classic 1950’s Look

Here’s a final post in my fashion themed sequence. This is from a 1952 edition of French Vogue.

I find that many of the European fashion shots from that era (for example) seem to have a more authentic fetishistic and femdom vibe than the far more explicit fashion shots from the 90’s and beyond. Possibly that’s just my particular kinky preferences, but I think the tight severe cuts, long dresses and dark colors tend to suggest restraint, control and authority. They also tend to shoot models alone and staring down into the camera, which is obviously a style a lot of femdom photographers use.

Sock Stud

Either this guy is the worst poker player in the world, or he is really trying to lose. He’s down to his sock suspenders, and she hasn’t even lost her bow-tie yet. The fact she has a full hand of cards while he appears to be playing with just a single ace might be part of the problem. Even in a lowball game, ace high doesn’t work all that well.

Can I also point out that his splayed pose, with that naked ass, is not going to be a good scene for that cushion. Put a towel down dude.

I think this is from a fashion shoot and features the male model Hao-Yun-Xiang. Unfortunately, I’ve not managed to figure out the original photographer or fashion brand, although I’d guess it might a sock related one?

Crack the Whip

This is the model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shot by British photographer Rankin. The odd thing is that this version of the image, which I believe is the original one, isn’t the one that has been widely shared. That would be this cropped and color modified version that I originally found. I guess people are happy to trade bad composition for a closer look at Ms Huntington-Whiteley.

This is from a book by Rankin called Ten Time Rosie shot in 2010.

Snappy Dresser

It’s probably fairly obvious that I enjoy kink and fetish. It’s probably less obvious that I’m also a fan of clothes and style. I hesitate to say fashion – as that can suggest chasing ephemeral fads and trends – but I do appreciate people who put some effort into their look. A man’s appearance can be immeasurably improved by a well chosen suit or a stylish jacket.

This image therefore falls perfectly at an intersection of two of my interests.  It’s not exactly something to wear for an average evening out, but it’s undoubtedly stylish and perfect for the well dressed latex fetishist. I particularly love the buttons on the cuffs. The whole thing is beautifully executed.

You can see some more shots of their ensemble in this tweet from Dominatrix Chiaki. The owner and model for the suit is @osm2741 and the clearly talented creator of it is @KurageKidO.

Posture

Apologies for the lack of posts recently. This weekend marked the 50th birthday of one of my most sociable friends. That resulted in a lot of parties, drinking and, because we’re now all old, complaining about the amount of drinking that had happened the night before. Unfortunately all the complaining and/or drinking left very little blogging time. Normal service should be resumed in the next day or so.

In the meantime let me leave you with this image from the famed photographer Ellen Von Unwerth. I’m not sure if it’s strictly femdom, but it’s got a certain something about it. There’s a suggestion of power and control in the dynamic, with the lurking threat of punishment if certain standards are not maintained.

Penelope and Ben

I’m not sure how I missed this when it was originally released. This is Penelope Cruz and Ben Stiller shot by Annie Leibovitz for Vogue back in 2016. It was part of a sequence re-creating iconic fashion shots to publicize the movie Zoolander 2. I have to admit that I’ve absolutely no idea what the original shot is that they’re re-creating.

Updated: It was based on a Helmut Newton shot from 1976. My thanks to Mistress C for the tip.

Tea for Two

This is one of those strange fashion shots where I can think of only two explanations. Either the photographer isn’t kinky at all, but wanted to shoot something that was, and so just threw a bunch of random kinky stuff into a scene. Or the photographer is extremely kinky, with a very specialized niche taste, and is therefore shooting on a frequency I just can’t pick up on. Whichever of those it is, I do like the china and her beautiful red corset.

This was shot by Aleksandar Alek Živković for Vice Serbia. I found it on labstrakt’s tumblr.
