Thanks for the pointer. I’m not sure if I should be happy my eye was good or sad that my memory is so bad. It turns out I’d actually posted the image before ( https://www.femdom-resource.com/2016/01/10/well-that-was-fun/ ) and managed to get the attribution right that time. I guess 1 out of 2 isn’t bad.

Don’t be too sad. Or, if you must, know that you aren’t sad alone. I am doing this (posting an image I posted before, or at least getting the blog post 4/5ths written before I catch myself, in a few cases) about once a month now. 6,200 posts going back to 2002. I am always finding posts in my database where I think “I have utterly no memory of seeing this post/image in my life, how did this get here?” I hope this is just normal human limits-of-memory, but fear it’s CRS Disease (can’t remember shit).
Glad it’s not just me with this issue. From 0 to 1000 posts I could pretty much always remember if I’d re-used something. From 1000 to 2000 posts I’d have a vague sense of familiarity if I was in danger of re-posting something. But now, closing on 3000 posts, I’m firmly where you are. I’ll look at a repost and just have no memory of the image. God knows what I’ll be like when I hit your kind of longevity and post count.
Perhaps it could be a positive thing? Maybe it means there is more post-worthy porn in the world than will fit in our brains. So everything old is new again, and we can endlessly and happily loop :-).

One advantage to longevity is that my standards keep going up… there is so MUCH MORE porn in the world (or at least, available for me to find) than there was when I started. And that means that when do post an image I’ve used before, it’s often larger, clearer, or more complete than the first version I posted. When I discover my mistake (if I do) I can edit the post to pretend that I was just updating and improve on the original. 😉
There’s definitely an endlessly growing amount of porn, although I’m not as sure as you are about the corresponding increase in quality, at least when it comes to images. A decade or so ago it seemed that porn shoots always involved high quality images to go alongside the video. Now video only clips stores and animated gifs on social media seem to dominate. Tumblr is (sort of) gone. Google image seach sucks. Twitter is great for day to day stuff, but an archival nightmare. Blogs of our sort are a shrinking niche, and there are less art curation sites around.
Maybe I’m just feeling particularly grouchy. I’d certainly always bow to your expertise in this space. You ability to track down images and find the original versions is amazing. Personally I struggle more these days to find high quality imagery than I used to.
