I am a master of the silly expression. I like to dream that I’m a stoic masochist, looking serious and intense through a scene, groaning only in deep manly ways at really extreme moments. In reality I know I pull all sorts of odd faces and make all manner of strange sounds. I therefore love this shot of someone reacting in a very unforced and natural way. It makes a nice change from the usual images of heavily tortured men with vaguely frowny faces.

Wow, this bring as back memories I like your site and went out today and was really surprised to see this picture of my wife and I.
This is one of the things I love about writing this blog. I’ll randomly feature some photograph I like or article I enjoyed, and then I’ll suddenly discover the people involved are readers and they follow-up with a comment. As I said in the post, I love this shot, just for how natural it looks. It reminds me of real BDSM interaction, rather than the edited and semi-posed shots found in conventional kinky porn. I’d be fascinated to here the background to how/when it was taken if you’d be OK to share that.

Thanks again, early on when I was exploring my kink I tried to be very stoic, and I could do it really well. Somone actually pulled me aside and said when you force being stoic you basically stop that feedback loop. So I started to react but then the domme was always checking in to make sure I was ok, which killed my headspace. So I learned to be a brat…but mind you never a SAM (I have been with some dominant a that are all about protocol and had a hard time when I made them laugh but they still had fun). And that is really where my reaction comes from on the photo, giving an honest response because she REALLY NAILED ME!
We had known Barbara for a few years, such a wonderful lady. We were staff at Leather Retreat (the forerunner for Dark Odyssey:Fusion) a wonderful all inclusive BDSM event and Barbara had known us for awhile from the event. I believe I asked her about doing a shoot and she loved the idea.
And that is really how it came about, it was a wonderful experience and when I saw this picture come up it brought back so many memories. And it is kind of funny because we have recently begun to up the bar and move to a full time FLR relationship from just a play type.
