This cartoon from SMBC made me laugh. However, while I like the fundamental joke, I have to question the choice of appliance. It’s hard for me to imagine a Roomba as a domme. They silently clean floors, endlessly circulating, doing their job without complaint. Clearly that’s (idealized) submissive behavior. So what is a dominant appliance?
I’m going to go with a dishwasher. I spend a bunch of time rinsing whatever goes into it, which is basically me doing the job for it. If I don’t serve it the glasses and plates in right loading order, it’ll either not clean them properly or break them. It’s forever complaining about me not having the right detergent or rinse aid. And when it’s done, I have to spend a bunch of time unloading and cleaning up afterwards. It’s a high maintenance service top with no happy endings.
I take a very different view. Being Dommed by the rhoomba sounds like an amazing fantasy.
My big thing is humiliation.
The overturning of expected/existing power asymmetries is a huge part of my fantasy world – and something I like to recreate in roleplay during sessions. This works especially well if it is done to me without my consent: the teacher bullied by the student; the boss dominated by the secretary; the householder forced to submit to the maid. The idea of being made to submit to someone who is supposed to be my subordinate in some way, really heightens the humiliation.
So, if the person dominating me is someone (or…something) that is supposed to be submissive, or is submissive to someone else, then it is a huge turn-on for me. This is why I regard switches as such a gift from Heaven during a session. You never feel so dominated as when you are submitting to someone who is being dominated by someone else.
I love the feeling of being absolutely at the bottom of any hierarchy: Mistress > Switch > submissive sissy > me. Now that’s a perfect session set-up.
So having the utterly submissive rhoomba dominating (against my will) me sounds wonderful. So humiliating.
I have to admit, I do enjoy a good role reversal fantasy. I’ve found a few good examples of fiction where the maid takes over the house and bosses the owner around. Always hot. Not sure how it’d work with a Roomba however! Might require one with a significant AI upgrade for it to boss you around 🙂
Mistress to Maid to Roomba to Submissive certainly gives you a pretty deep hierarchy of submission.
