Project manager

I’m afraid my blogging might be a bit erratic for the next few weeks. I have contractors in to do some remodeling work on my place. Unfortunately our work habits don’t mesh all that well. I like to stay up late drinking wine and writing. They like to turn up very early and hit things with hammers. Asking them to hammer quietly has so far not met with success. The end result is a grouchy paltego with not much time to write at night before he falls asleep.

What I really need is a take charge project manager who can get things done in half the time and a quarter the volume. The lady below looks like she wouldn’t take any nonsense when it came to civilized working hours.

  1. True, but the team she has with her at the moment doesn’t look like the right Team for you.
When my grandfather had work done in his home, he took off on vacation. Even through the eyes of a four year old, that seemed like a good plan.
What about that for an idea?

    1. I tend to agree. That team does not look like the people you’d want to entrust power tools and a spirit level to. They are more the back office crowd.

As for vacation – that’s definitely an idea I’m debating. I was thinking of heading to LA for a week or so. What worries me is giving them guidance when something is unclear. It’s amazing how many random things pop up and how useful it is to be able to see the problem in question in person. Maybe I’ll take off toward the end when it’s fit and finish stuff, rather than more fundamental issues. Thanks for the thought and comment.
