Sleepy Paul

Here’s my final celebrity themed post for the moment. This time it’s Paul Giamatti and the incident in question is a fictional one from his latest showtime series Billions. He plays a kinky attorney who enjoys being dominated by his wife (played by Maggie Siff). I personally haven’t watched it but, according to this article, it sounds like they’re treating the kinky dynamic in a more mature and respectful fashion than usual. Normally a domme is just thrown in mid-season to spice a series up and provide an excuse to feature a hot woman in leather.

You can watch the opening scene from the series here. There’s bondage, torture and the strong suggestion of a golden shower. Not exactly your standard opening to a Wall Street drama. I was also amused to read that Paul Giamatti was tied up by a specialist rigger and reacted by falling asleep. That’s not a rare reaction to bondage, as it can create a soothing and protected sensation. However, I wouldn’t have expected an actor dealing with a script and a film crew to have responded quite so strongly to the bondage.

  1. Thank you very much for bringing that opening scene to our attention, paltego. It’s pantie wetting and smoking hot at the same time!

Teaches us (again) that “a submissive person is only a sub”; but that a cigarette, a cigarillo or a cigar can be so much more than a smoke **.
And soothing that vicious burn with a squirt of piss … Sheer genius! And must have taken a hell of a lot of guts on the part of the makers as well. They even (unwittingly?) managed to avoid the proverbial platform soles (under her boots), in their attempts to treat the spousal kinks with the tolerance and the respect they deserve.

** For those who “hate” smokers and smoking: Your local d.i.y. outlet will be more than happy to sell you a small soldering iron (25 – 40 Watt) or pencil shaped mini blow torch.

    1. Glad you enjoyed it! As you say, it’s a pretty brave move on the part of the series makers. It’s cable rather than network TV, so they get a lot more flexibility, but it’s still a very gutsy opening.

As for using a soldering iron – I still have a faint line of white scars on a very delicate part of my anatomy from one of those. Scene was fun but I was surprised to get a (faint) permanent reminder of it!

    1. Thanks for that link. Interesting. They seem to be approaching the BDSM aspects in a very mature and responsible way, which is unusual. I might have to do a follow-up post on that.
