Miss Peel

I was sad to read of the recent passing of Brian Clemens. He wasn’t exactly a household name, but as the man behind the 60’s TV series The Avengers, I’m sure a lot of my readers have enjoyed his work. It featured two wonderful British actresses in Honor Blackman and Dianna Rigg, both of whom sported some fine fetishistic outfits. Aggressive women in catsuits with guns – what’s not to like about that?

Emma PeelThis is Diana Rigg as Emma Peel. She went on to play Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo in the Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

    1. Yes, I did have a brief browse of her page when writing this. Interesting lady as you say. I mentioned the Bond movie, as I figured that’s probably the most well known thing she did after Avengers, but she certainly accomplished a lot.

  1. It s Mrs Peel, not Miss.

    Those of us into humiliation as well as kinky boots found it even sexier that somewhere there was a man for her.

    Actually, in Diana Rigg’s very last episode we catch a glimpse of him for the first and only time – and he looks just like John Steed.

    R.I.P. Brian Clemens. Helping make the pre-Internet world a kinkier place.

  2. Ah Mrs. Peel! There is no doubt she and her skin tight black leather catsuit permanently influenced my young mind! RIP Brian Clemens. The Avengers was one of the great classic TV shows of all time!

    1. Glad to hear this was a happy memory for you hmp! I remember enjoying the show on re-runs. I should really dig around online and try and find some old episodes to watch again.

  3. ah yes, The Avengers;

    I recall the promo when Steed notices the bearskin rug which he then gently lifts to reveal “oh, bare skin”

    1. I don’t think I ever saw that promo and sadly, despite looking, I’ve not managed to find the video for that moment. Shame 🙂
