I’m not a huge fan of tumblrs that automatically treat oral sex as a D/s act. Sometimes sex is just sex, and there’s no reason to impose a dominant dynamic on it. Everyone enjoys having soft wet squidgy bits rubbed on their genitals.
That said, it is an act that often lends itself to the D/s fantasy. This image is a great case in point. Her look really makes the image work for me. It’s very knowing.

No, I don’t think there’s anything involving pleasure that is necessarily D/s. I don’t generally object to people projecting potential D/s fantasies into oral sex shots. But I do find it weird when I stumble across a D/s themed tumblr and there are a bunch of oral sex shots that to me seem very straightforward happy non-D/s sex shots. I find some lend themselves to projecting a particular fantasy and some don’t, and treating them all as D/s is odd to me.

I agree. Context is everything! I think that people who classify oral sex (or many other sex acts) as D/s are just projecting their own feelings.
It’s curious, though, to learn what some people think is D/s or not…I have female friends (non-kinky) who think that performing oral sex is degrading (unbelievable to me, in this day and age, but hey, to each their own). I myself am pretty submissive, but I feel powerful/dominant when I go down on a guy. Sorry if that’s TMI.

I think it’s generally OK to project feelings and fantasy into certain shots if they lend themselves that way. After all any enjoyment of erotica is typically about projecting feelings. But (as I said in another comment), I do think it’s odd when people take any old oral sex shots and present them as D/s. That does seem to say something about their attitude to the act rather than their reaction to a particular image.
