Playing in Public

A scene featuring a domme leading her puppy submissive on a leash through a supermarket recently went viral on Twitter. If you missed the hoopla, then it was later covered on the Daily Dot. That article is at least 50% advertisements, but it does cover the basics of what happened pretty well.

I have thoughts to share, but no time right now to do so. In the meantime I’ll leave you with  this twitter thread on the topic, which I found surprising nuanced and thoughtful. It’s rare in social media to find a viral tweet trigger a construction discussion. In fact, let’s be honest. It’s rare is social media to find a constructive discussion at all.

Here’s a different example of kinky public play. At least I assume that’s what it is. It could just be the most obliging boyfriend ever. Or, even hotter, she’s texting her boyfriend and he’s just a supportive (quite literally) friend.

I’m afraid I don’t have an attribution for this. I fished it out from deep within my tumblr archive.

  1. Playing in public does not always have a glorious outcome.
In recent years BBC news carried a story about a rather optimistic male Dom who took his female sub out shopping for sausages (for goodness sake) in Stockton, leading her along by collar and lead.
The butcher looked the Dom up and down and said,
“Now then lad, they’ll be nae sausages till the lady’s off the lead!”
The story did not say how the impasse was resolved – but Stockton and the North East is a conservative sort of place!

    1. Ha! That’s great. Love the image of a very deadpan Northern butcher giving him notice. Probably the best way to handle those situations.

      Cheers,

  2. I’ve put my submissive hubwife through a few public and semi-public “outings” so to speak, but nothing quite this extreme. I’m always careful not to offend totally innocent bystanders or put parents in an uncomfortable position of having to explain our kink to their kids. Mine has always been a more soft and subtle form of play. I’ll only snap the leash onto her collar once I get into the fetish shop 🙂

    1. Subtle is always a good way to go I think. Requires a little more imagination and ingenuity, but equally effective without scaring the locals. Never good to drag random passersby into a scene.
