Cleaning up in DC

I thought I’d finish this trilogy of posts on forceful female characters from mainstream media with a slightly offbeat choice – Kate Kaplan from the Blacklist. She plays a cleaner and problem solver. Someone who can dispose of dead bodies for you or, when necessary, find the dead body that you’ve carelessly misplaced. She’s terse, low key, awesomely efficient and strangely hot (to me at least). You can see a montage of her in action here.

I have to admit it’s weird that, in a show featuring a hot FBI agent and a hot Israel agent, I go for the spinster in tweed and horn rimmed glasses. I guess there’s just something about a forceful, no nonsense, understated attitude that does it for me.

Murdering people in Miami

This is a slightly odd segue from the last post. Watching Julia Stiles in the Bourne series reminded me of her role in Dexter. She plays Lumen, one of the lead characters in season 6. After being raped and abused by a group of men she uses Dexter’s help to enact a fitting and violent retribution on each of them. The scene of them on his boat in the season finale is one of the sweetest moments you’ll see featuring two serial killers returning from dumping a body.

In fact the series has a number of strong dominant female characters. As well as Lumen, there’s his aggressive and foul mouthed sister (Jennifer Carpenter), dangerous Lilia from Season 2 (Jamie Murray) and serial poisoner Hannah from Season 7 (Yvonne Strahovski). Not really much BDSM content, but definitely one for the fans of femme fatales.

Kicking ass in the CIA

I’ve just been re-watching the Jason Bourne trilogy. It’s not a particularly subtle or intellectual series, but it is fun to watch late at night over a drink or two. Personally I prefer the directing of Doug Liman (who did the first Bourne Identity) rather than Paul Greengrass (who did the two sequels). Liman’s style is less frenetic and more traditional than the jerky and over the top Greengrass. That said, the two sequels have one big advantage – Joan Allen. She plays the hard as nails CIA agent who struts through the films, barking orders, facing down her superiors and figuring out what’s really going on. The movies are escapist nonsense of the James Bond variety, but it’s nice to see a strong female character kicking ass and not sleeping with the hero.

Shit or get off my face

This paper mag article on the NYC BDSM scene is pretty short and light on detail. However, I have to salute the writer for its opening line – ‘Shit or get off my face’. That’s memorable. It’s a phrase that provokes an initial ‘huh?’, until you realize the writer is a dominatrix. Then it generates more of an ‘Ewww!’.

Management training

This image made me laugh. It’s so bizzare, and yet it kind of works. The blond ladies gesturing and the stare of the group – either down at him or up at her – seems to fit so well. I imagined it at as this weirdest management training course ever. They’re about to break into different groups and use the flip charts to brainstorm the pros and cons of having a toilet slave in an open plan office culture.

Of course it’s a Photoshop fake. You can see the original here, which is from the Red Hook Community Justice center. They help out NYC communities and court system, and definitely do not pee into the mouths of naked slaves. I congratulate them on their community spirit and I congratulate the original photoshopper for creating one of the most unusual yet successful photo modifications that I’ve seen.

This little piggy got stabbed with a wooden skewer

Apologies for the lack of posts in recent days. I’m having to deal with some job related bullshit that’s stressing me out and sucking up a bunch of my time. Pacing around my apartment cursing the name of some asshole from work is not a good mindset for sex blogging.

This post is actually a bit of a cheat, as I’m stealing from a recent Bondage Blog post. I liked it for the smile on the dommes face in the first image and the fact it features one of the rarer forms of sadistic play. Foot worship is a common enough femdom theme, but foot torture doesn’t seem to push as many buttons with people.

Personally I have a love/hate relationship with this activity. On the one hand there’s something inherently funny about it. People messing with my feet makes me laugh. When you’re not actually using them, feet are these weird ticklish appendages stuck at the end of your body. At the same time they can be sensitive as hell. Being beaten there is really intense (as I’ve experienced) and they have all sorts of odd nerves and pressure points. Foot torture is one activity that can shift gears from playful and fun into intense pain very quickly.

It’s

In one of my weirder image associations, this somehow reminds me of the Michael Palin’s hairy unkempt man with staring eyes who introduced Monty Python’s Flying Circus. I can’t help but look at it and think “It’s…” followed by the famous theme music. They did a pretty wide variety of introductions using the character, but I don’t remember any involving cunnilingus.

In the zone

I liked this short article on BDSM as a form of meditation. It doesn’t go into a lot of detail, but it captures some of my feelings on certain types of BDSM play. I’m by no means an expert on the topic, but the mindful meditation it describes does remind me of subspace.

Some activities seem to lend themselves more than others to this kind of mental state. Personally I’ve found that needle play (particularly when decorative), heavy bondage and very formalized corporal punishment are particularly good for it. Moments of stillness combined with ritual and rhythm definitely help. In contrast things like predicament bondage, electrical play and energetic fucking really don’t work. They’re fun, but tend to constantly pull your mind out of the zone and into the moment.

MomentHere’s a nice shot of someone enjoying a moment with Cybill Troy. I wonder if he’s feeling particularly meditative?

Oddly popular femdom topics

I often do image searches on particular femdom themes, and I’m frequently surprised what topics turn out to be popular. Last month for example, I was looking for some witch themed femdom, and failing to find much of interest. I’d have thought those two were a natural fit. I also recently spent some time looking for axe or sword themed femdom shots and couldn’t come up with anything good. Yet tonight, I searched for ‘tea femdom’ and found all sorts of shots based on dommes drinking tea. Who’d have thought it’d be easier to find a shot of a domme demanding a good cup of tea rather than a sexy dominant sorceress? Maybe porn is more true to life than we normally think?
