I’m safely back in Seattle, my East Coast adventures at an end. I’ve family staying with me for the next couple of weeks, so posting may be a bit erratic over that period.
While I’m happy to be home, the place I’d really like to be is Munich for BoundCon. My twitter feed is full of fun images featuring great dommes doing crazy bondage stuff. Clearly you are one of those submissives who doesn’t slave away at the office for months on end. How many days have you worked in between trips? Was it more than two weeks? Even over here in Europe, some people work a bit longer until their next break. Don’t worry, I stopped being jealous or handing out advice on how not to antagonise your male readers.
Advice of a different kind perhaps. May I suggest you update your manual on how to find compatible dommes? Unless you are on the first leg of your “Around The World In 80 Dommes” epic journey of course. While wondering about that I realised something else. Out of the three dommes you’ve seen on this “spectacular short trip”, my clear favourite is Troy Orleans. Odd, given that I know next to nothing about any of them. Communication is 95 percent non-verbal, but more importantly, what matters most is to look into someone’s eyes. But what if you’ve never met the other person? What shapes our preferences?
Whatever selection “dilemma” you face, mine is the opposite. Believe it or not, if I were to request a session with a pro-domme in Holland today, that would pose a challenge. For some reason there is no-one I feel compatible with. After reading your latest post, I realized the distance Amsterdam – Berlin is only 650 kilometres, much more manageable than your coast to coast tour. Residenz Avalon is the epicenter of kink in Germany, a majority of visiting dommes flock there. So I had a look at their website. During Boundcon both mistress Chiaki and mistress Hinako are listed as guest dominas. If only I had known…
Guess my slave superhero quality is subconscious self denial. Unfortunately that is not the kind of masochist I am. Then again, I don’t really have a choice. Which probably makes it some sort of mental bondage. You cannot escape your kink, can you?

As I’m sure you know, America is traditionally pretty poor on vacation time in comparison to Europe. Fortunately, it’s not so bad in tech companies, and even better if you’ve been in the company a few years. I get 5 weeks I can take when I want, plus the various national holidays, so that’s a little over 6 weeks a year vacation. Plus, I can roll it across from year to year. I don’t think that’s quite as much as most European countries, but still makes it fairly easy for me to disappear off on these kind of trips.
Finding a compatible domme is definitely a challenge. Sorry to hear you’ve not found someone in Holland. Like you say, most communication is non-verbal and it’s tough to know who you’ll ‘click’ with. This blog probably gives a misleading view, because there are a reasonable number of dommes I’ve played with and haven’t featured here. I only write about dommes I’ve played with multiple times or those (like Mistress Tess) I’m 100% sure I’m going to want to play with again. So my success rate is definitely lower than the impression you’d get from my posts.
Germany and Studio Avalon are high on my list of places to visit at some future point. Some amazing spaces and dommes. 650km isn’t too bad for a quick trip. San Francisco is 1000km away, and that seems like somewhere I can zip to for a weekend. But America has a way of warping a sense of distance!
I think Mistress Chiaki and Mistress Hinako are there for a few more days yet – to July 5th. So still a chance to catch them if you have the time, money and opportunity!
