Living the dream

I was lucky enough to realize a long held dream of mine this weekend. I got to play with Isabella Sinclaire.

For those that don’t know of her work (shame on you), she’s a famous and very talented domme, who I’ve mentioned here in previous posts. I first became aware of her thanks to the Ivy Manor films she did with Jewell Marceau back around 2000. At the time my kinky life lived in fantasy only, and the films and her presence completely grabbed me. It’s hard to believe I’d one day be lucky enough to end up tied to her table.

Her approach to playing reminded my a lot of Lydia. They both possess the confidence, skills and experience to riff on a theme, reading body language and organically building layers of sensation. Rather than working through a specific pre-determined plan, there’s a sense of working towards a know goal but improvising a lot of the steps along the way. In my case some of those steps involved a tens unit, a beautifully thrown single tail and suturing around the nipples, cock and balls. It was a fantastic experience.

Please note that my comparison shouldn’t be taken as a criticism of the other dommes I play with. There are a lot of different but equally great ways to construct a scene and top someone. I’ve always tried to play with different dommes and enjoyed their unique slants on domination, even when Lydia was still around. I’ve just never before encountered anyone who reminded me so much of her general approach as Isabella did, even while their styles were still very much their own.

If you’re in the LA region and interesting sessioning with Mistress Isabella, her professional site is here. She also organizes a Domme Collective, featuring many talented professionals.

  1. Great review and recommendation. It is indeed difficult to give unreserved praise without making the inference that others, by contrast, are only second best. In our highly competitive world, when one intends to enthusiastcally report on one’s experience it sometimes comes off as a one sided review of a contest between football (soccer) sides. The more I experience, the more difficult writing reviews becomes. Having a amazing time with someone one has long admired from afar leads to the use of superlative modifiers. Thank you for your honest reporting on your extraordinary time with Mistress Isabella while not ‘dissing’ everyone else.

    Peace,
    Pat

    1. Thanks. I don’t really intend to write these posts as ‘reviews’ as such, they’re more just comments on my experiences, but glad you liked it. Obviously they are in some sense recommendations for people to consider, but everyone plays differently and creates different dynamics. I think it’s interesting to think about styles of play, or preferences, but I’m always very wary of trying to create positive or negative comparisons. It’s supposed to be kinky fun, not a competitive sport (as you say).

  2. Years ago she used to write a column for one of the free alternative papers in the area. I later stumbled across here online, and I believe that we exchanged a few emails about chastity devices. Certainly one of the more intelligent “public” dommes I’d ever run across.

    1. I find almost any successful pro-domme who has been active for a while is highly intelligent. I think the complexity and challenges of the profession strongly discriminate for that. But Isabella does seem to have done more than most to step into the public light and talk about her work and life. Interacting in person definitely confirms the impression you get from her ‘public’ interactions. i.e That she’s smart, talented, good communicator, fun to talk to, etc.
