Hard Limits

I don’t have a lot of hard limits when I play. This certainly isn’t to say I’m any kind of super-submissive or ultra-masochist. There are definitely activities I sometimes struggle with. It’s just that I’m wired to enjoy D/s and power exchange, and therefore like almost any kind of interaction that facilitates that. I think this tends to be in contrast to those submissives who fetishize a certain style of play or type of activity, and therefore have much stricter lists of what is and what isn’t acceptable. Plus, I’m a big believer in Sir Thomas Beecham’s dictum: “In this life try everything once, except incest and country dancing.”

However, one hard limit I do have is scat play. I get it on an intellectual level. After all, I do like piss play, and in someways that can have a similar dynamic. But just on aesthetic and health grounds, I can’t never ever see me putting scat play on the menu (if you’ll excuse the expression). That said, I was interested to read Mistress Kendra Knight’s writing on ‘Shit-play and toilet slavery in dominance/submission‘. It didn’t change my mind at all about the activity, but hearing about it from a well known dominant and a couple of her slaves did give an insight into the mindset of people who do enjoy it. I think a lot of people would be surprised to hear them use such words such as spiritual, sensual and sacrament in the context of eating excrement. And even more surprised to see someone inspired to write poetry written about it.

Note that the article is text only, split over 6 pages, with no pictures, apart from of the beautiful Mistress Kendra herself. But despite the lack of graphic images, the text is fairly explicit in describing this extreme activity and it’s probably best avoided if you’re squeamish.

  1. P-

I share your orientation regarding (nearly) all things submissive. However, unlike you, I’ve come to see myself working into levels of scat play. Not necessarily ingestion, but certainly being involved with Mistress’ defecation.

It is not at all surprising to me that a toilet slave would see spirituality and sacramental communion in the act. Not at all.

I shall enjoy reading the linked text. Ty.

  2. paltego,

I echo saratoga’s comments regarding how a ts would view such an act.

While saratoga may be just a bit too modest (not a bad trait for a sub) to publicize his own blog, it recently contained a very interesting, not to mention controversial, posting about this very subject. It (along with ensuing comments from readers and other posts) is worth the read: http://ondominance.blogspot.com/2011/02/realistic-toilet-training-from-kim-kogi.html

I enjoy your blog very much. Thanks for changing it so that your readers now have an opportunity to comment.

  3. Hi Paltego:

That was excellent article. Thanks for the link.

I have an attraction/repulsion relationship with scat. I have fantasized about it and imagine that it can be highly erotically charged in the right context.

Scat was on my list of hard limits as a client (for health reasons) but I always wondered if that limit might not go by the wayside if I met the right pro. Now that I am exclusively in a life style relationship with Her Majesty scat play will remain forever a fantasy which is probably just as well.

I don’t think we have to live out *all* of our fantasies after all. Some things may be better left to the imagination. Besides, some of my friends have partaken and report that the reality is one hell of a lot harder to digest than most of us might imagine when we fantasize about it.

  4. Thanks for the interesting comments.

    Saratoga-
When it comes to how people view the act I probably should have been more explicit and qualified the ‘lot of people being surprised’ part a little more. I had in mind the big wide vanilla world, rather than the typical audience for this blog :).

I’ve posted on toilet play a little in the past, with reference to piss drinking:

As I said there, I’m definitely in the “it’s a gift” camp, rather than seeing it as degrading. Although those lines can get a little blurred at times!

Intellectually I definitely get it and understand their point of view. I just can’t get past the health issues and general nastiness of the reality.

    Suzanne –
Thanks for the link. I read Saratoga’s blog regularly, so not sure how I managed to miss that particular discussion. Interesting to catch up on. Although I have to side with Ms Marie in disliking the fake out at the end of the story :).

Glad you enjoy the blog. It’s good to have you here and commenting. And thanks for all the fascinating posts over on your blog describing your rich and varied relationships!

    hmp –
I tend to agree with you on the fantasy aspect. In fiction and to a limited extend in movies I can kind of enjoy the fantasy. Although I think it’s more the ritual, equipment, objectification, etc. that makes it erotically charged for me. The actual moment (movement?) tends to puncture the fantasy I find. Where piss play pushes all sorts of similar buttons but doesn’t have quite the same health or aesthetic issues.

I could have sworn I had your blog on my blog roll. I’ve definitely visited it often enough in the past. Anyway, it’ll be appearing then sometime in the next few days.

  5. Paltego – I enjoyed both your post and the linked article very much! In fact, I’m composing a post about it now and will link your article. After reading the comments here, I have to say that I’m glad you agree with my ‘distaste’ for the fake out ending on the story at Saratoga’s link. His post generated some interesting discussions as well.

I really enjoy your blog! One of my first reads in the morning and I’m glad to see that you always have something new.

    Marie
